DAY 1:

Today we went to the St Luke's hospital to volunteer. Once we reached there, we were lost, the place was new to us and we do not know where to report to. We went in to the reception to ask for directions. After which we were safely in the hands of the volunteers there. In the office, we met Rung and Pricilla. Pricilla gave us the permission to raid the drinks and food in the refrigerator.

We were given a tour of the place by Rung who was happy to answer any of our doubts. The best spot was the place where some of the patients there planted plants like chilli and tomato. The herbs there had a claming and soothing effect on us. Throughout tour we saw many of the wards there. There are different types of ward, like the 6 bed and 4 bed wards.

The highlight of the day was the lift!! When we got into the lift for the first time, there were 13 of us together including Rung, but the lift beeped and showed the sign OVERLOADED! We were shocked. One by one we started going out of the lift, it ended up with only 6 people left in the lift. The maximum weight limit of the lift was 1600kg, it was supposed to be able to take 16 people at a time. We all could only stare in amazement at how heavy we were!!

After the tour, we started helping out in the admin work. Our job scope included packing the files that contains brochures to sorting them out. We also help to cut the brochure. Our efficiency level was so high that we complete everything we could do at 12pm. I would be glad to go back to there to volunteer.
